Alloy steel scrap – is scrap of steel containing alloying elements in its chemical composition, which increase performance characteristics of the steels, for example: nickel, chromium, molybdenum and others.
Types of alloy steel scrap:
- low-alloyed steel scrap (structural and tool steel; examples: WNL, WCL);
- highly-alloyed steel scrap (stainless, acid-proof steel – it is a constant that contains a minimum of 16% Cr, a minimum of 6% Ni (according to AISI and ASTM – series 300; these include stainless steel containing a minimum of 11% Cr, according to AISI, series 400).
