The first steel smelting took place in Huta Częstochowa after the plant was taken over by Liberty Steel. According to Liberty, the arc furnace of Huta Częstochowa can produce up to 0.7 million tonnes of steel per year.
After the rolling mill was put into operation, Liberty Steel fired the furnace of Huta Częstochowa, which had been shut down in October 2020. The first smelting took place more slowly than usual before the produced steel was processed in the ladle furnace and in the continuous casting line, where were created flat, rectangular steel blanks.
